World of Guardians Boxed Set 4 Short Stories in 1 eBook S K Whiteside
This may be the most poorly written book I've ever encountered. First, the author is extraordinarily bad with grammar (and clearly didn't bother with a proofreader). The comma is the most common mark of punctuation in the English language, yet the author writes entire chapters without a single comma. She doesn't understand apostrophes. She uses nominative and objective pronouns interchangeably. She even uses simple words incorrectly: weaned when she means waned, damned when she means damp (unless she's cursing the floor), new when she means knew. She over-uses trite adjectives, yet lacks strong verbs. Simply put, this book feels like it was written by a high schooler. The storyline had potential -- two brothers vying for superiority, an evil plot, a woman caught up in the middle of it all -- yet it wasn't fleshed out well at all. Don't just tell us that one brother hatched a horrible plan; walk us through it! Was it easy? How did the "good brother" feel when he realized his brother's duplicity? Did no one question the "evil brother" afterward? The storyline also skips over huge portions of the storyline; for example, the wife searching for the parts of her husband's body (which is pretty creepy). The storyline also flip-flops its facts: Their children are dead ... no, their children are in hiding ... she's going to find the children ... nope, the children are dead. And the characters make senseless decisions: Their time is limited, they must do something immediately; oh, but let's get a good night's sleep first. Again, it felt like something written by a high schooler.
This book and author are best avoided.

World of Guardians Boxed Set 4 Short Stories in 1 eBook S K Whiteside Reviews
liked the series
The first to "books" where pretty good, but very short, and seemed to lack in something, the rest were difficult to read, and lacked something.
Absolutely love the these books. They are so easy to read and follow and I really like Whiteside's style of writing.
At the most the story could have been 2 books. Not for the lack of story material that could have been included though. It seemed some parts were stretched and then the story would make a leap. Even so the author managed to keep the story together.
I liked it! Each book filled you in word for word on what happened in the book prior. I didn't need to be filled in because I bought the boxed set. I was able to skip over it but wasn't to thrilled about having to do it each time.
I got into Vexed right away, but had a hard time reading the rest of the story because of the numerous mistakes in grammar and especially in punctuation. Some sentences just didn't make sense at all. At one point I thought that perhaps it was badly translated from another language.
This book is an excellent book that I couldn't get enough of it. I love books and it is really hard for me to get into any books that doesn't involve vampires or werewolves, so these books were fantastic and I hope and look forward to reading more S. K. Whiteside books.
